Flying in a helicopter over my hometown Lohr
May 21, 2009
Well, here it is: My hometown Lohr. It's located in the northern part of Bavaria, called Franconia. If you travel to Germany from overseas, you most likely will go to Frankfurt Int'l Airport, which is just 85km east from my place.
It's pretty green in this area, as you can see on the pictures. After all, Lohr is located in the Spessart, which as far as I know is the biggest area of consecutive forrest in Europe.
Many people come here for vacation. You can go hiking, biking, enjoying a ride on your motorbike or go on a cruise in your convertible. The towns in this area usually have an old town center with framework houses that sometimes are 400 years old.
Oh, did I mention that Snowwhite lived in Lohr Castle for real? :-)
I had the chance to go on a helicopter ride and see my hometown from above. It was such a lovely day in late April, 2008.
Just look at the pics and let them sink in... isn't it beautiful here?
:-)
