Today was rest and acclimatization day,  got out of bed around 7am and on the breakfast table around 8am when suddenly head the noise of a helicopter that was landing behind our lodge. A few people climbed out and joined the Singapore group members who were giving him a very major welcome taking photos and all. He might be their sponsor.

Later we started to walk towards a village called Chukung where where climbers go to climb the Island Peak. It was around 2 hours walk and on the way we got the best view of the mountains. Here we were completely surrounded by huge peaks around Everest, all covered in snow and felt like they were around 1-2 hrs walking distance. But the actual walk to the base of these mountains at that altitude would be more than 3-4 hours walk.

Back to the lodge for lunch and rest, trying to get some sleep as had not slept from the day we left Namche.  Today’s rest was also necessary as tomorrow we were going to climb a lot to reach Lobuche at high altitude.

During dinner time came to know from the locals that there was some problem in Kathmandu and some bad weather due to which the flights did not come to Lukla for some days. I was the only trekker in that lodge that night. Went to bed around 8:30pm but still no sleep and again woke up in the middle of the night to watch the mountains glowing in the moonlight.
