Charleigh and I on our adventures around Thailand and Cambodia. My first experience as a 'backpacker' although I did dump the backpack for a rucksack and tiny suitcase lol. An experience I will never forget!

I think we found paradise :)

the thai woman did my hair like this

Our phone rang about 09:10 am we had missed our massage appointment ... opppps, how long had we slept? nearly 12 hours but that was nothing compared to the 33 we had been awake, we re booked our massages for 10 am as we really did need them, we went down to the buffet for breakfast I made a toastie out of ham chesse and salad :).

We then had to rush to the spa for our massages which im really glad we did because they were really relaxing, the room was lovely with nice pale colour and relaxing music for a calming effect, we had a double room so that we could both get our massages together, at first it kind of hurt a little bit but the second half was heaven, the massage lasted 1 hour.

12pm was check out which means no time to use the pool :( ahhh maybe next time, we then called a tour company for a transfer to koh phi phi.

on the boat
... and here we are on the boat now ............

We sunbathed on the deck and watched the sea pass us by for about half an hour untill we saw the massive rain cloud and choppy sea we then ran for cover.

We arrived on Koh phi phi and went down to the beach to catch a long tail boat (water taxi) to long beach thanks to lonely planet we already knew where we were headed. 100 bht for a water taxi to our beach which is about £2 so quite good really.

We asked some friendly strangers to point us in the direction of the reception as we had literaly walked off of the beach to the nearest place we could see ->  'p.p. long beach' .

The first thing we did once we had put all our stuff in to our room was set up camp on the beach, towels, books, suncream, deet, and cameras as we watched the world go by.

sunbathing
.. cats were playing on the beach, other tourists... touring i guess and the thai people going about their daily lives, it was very relaxing on the beach and felt good to finally just sit by the sea and relax, the beach was very clean and the water was lovely.

The next thing we decided to do after sunbathing was explore the main part of koh phi phi as we never got the chance to see what was there when we arrived,so we jumped on a long tail boat it was actually pretty suprising  what was there it was like litte market stalls everywhere which by the way had great stuff on them, intercepted by small bars and restaurants some thai and some western, tour sellers and a few hotels, there were lots of little streets everywhere and we found a great little place to eat in the back streets, that we loved  and it was very cheap and excellent quality food.

we got a long tail boat back to our beach and went to sit at the bar for drinks which is where we met jaspar, he was chatting alot of random crap but we thought it was pretty funny. lol!

he said and charleigh quotes " I won the lottery yesterday, do you want to know how much?" lol nahhh we did't want to know, but he was nice enough to buy all of our drinks for the evening.

The barman then arranged for us to all get a water taxi to the party scene, himself included as he was friends with jaspar, when we got there we found a touristy bar which was playin alot of old school rock where we drank cocktails all night and played pool, one of the bar girls joined in to.

Just when you think that we had done enough partying for the night we then end up on the other side of the island at some ibiza beach party haha it was cool :) nice music and great atmosphere, we stayed untill around 5am .

long tail boat home ... raining

the water taxi back to long beach was a funny experience once we actually found it, trying to get in to the boat i stumbled as they are actually kinda high  and are a nightmare to get in to or out of when your sober let alone drunk lol and anyways I literally rolled sideways off of the top of the boat and in to the middle before sitting down properly and laughing my head off. :)

very basic, great location.
Ok so its not a high end hotel but it certainly was a great base for us, we were on a budget as we were travelling around Thailand, so the room options are 500 bht for a room without a bathroom and 800 bht for a room with a bathroom now we chose the room with the bathroom (as you do ) but there was really no need at all my advice is to choose the cheaper room as there were communal bathrooms with toilets that flush and showers that were not freezing, the communal bathrooms were alot better than the bathroom in our room after the first night we did not use our bathroom.
This place was in a great location even tho not on the main beach its was less crowded and one of the cleanest beaches around koh phi phi taxi boat to the main island 100bht.
the room was basic and small just a bed and a mossie net around it but at least it was clean the room was made of concrete lol.
internet services and plugs are at the main reception desk if you want to charge your phone or ipod etc. I left my phone and ipod there and it was still there when i gt back i just asked the guy at reception to look after it and it goes behind the desk.
nice small bar for a few drinks at night but for food i reccomend going over to the main island as there are many nice places to choose from.
