Today we wanted to see the floating market but there were no tours going from the hotel because of the up coming Songkran festival, well we'd have to try and get there ourselves... we walked down to the pier where we paid for our boat fair 18bht and chilled for a while at the little pre new year fair/fate they were having it was so much fun, we hit a gong, squirted the band, and got water flicked at us by the monks...
boat 1 = we were meant to get off at stop 10, they moved away too quickly and we never managed to get off, the security ran after us when we tryed to jump it lol we thought instead of getting off at stop 11 we would just stay on till the end to see the sights and the get it all the way back to stop 10 again we were going to have to pay again no matter how far or near we travelled and we were in no hurry.
we finally reached stop 10 but still could't find our way to the floating market, we stopped for a drink and ice cream at a place called black canyon coffee after our rest we found a tour which loked like it would take us to the floating market so we paid our money and went on our tour of the river, it was actually a really great tour and went around in a circle we had fun sightseeing in bangkok plus we had the extra bonus of our river boat ride being turned into a log flume, already celebrating the new year locals and tourists alike threw, squirted and chucked water at our boat the whole ride thru we got drenched and had such a laugh, this was one of the best days of the entire trip.
The boat ride tour didnt take us to the floating market that we wanted to see however it did take us to some sort of floating market, a few boats :). We didnt mind tho as we had so much fun, afterwards we went to the huge reclining buddha it was soo cool and gold, we had to cover our shoulders before entering, bangkok is a fantastic city.
