How should I use my Continental miles?

Over the years I had accumulated enough frequent flier miles on Continental Airlines for a free international ticket. I looked at all of Continental's destinations. Micronesia had a certain appeal. So did Palau and Cairns. In the end I decided to go to Bali. A few years earlier I had to cancel my trip to Bali due to the bombings in October 2002 - I was supposed to go to Bali the following month. I looked at the available dates and I was able to get tickets for the middle of January 2005. Once again, tragedy strikes. This time in the form of the December 26, 2004 tsunami that originated in Indonesia. Fortunately Bali escaped the tsunami. Three weeks later I was on a Continental Airlines plane bound for Bali. First I had to make an overnight stop in Guam.
