3 day 53 mile hike through the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.

Day 2

All ready to roll out.
Up an at'em early this morning. We broke camp at 7:00am and headed to the south end of the park. After about 6 miles we began to enter the scenic are of the park and stopped to take a few photos of the canyon. At 10:30 we climbed an off shoot trail up to the railroad trestle to eat lunch and enjoy the view. Perfect timing we caught a train crossing while eating. The next leg exited the park and cut through the town of Portageville. 2 miles after Portageville we hit the main FLT/NCT. 2:20pm arriving at the Hesse lean-to we had hit the 12 mile marker. Built a fire, ate and relaxed for 2 hours, then back on the trail. After one last 6 mile push (most of which was on dirt roads)we made camp 1.5 miles out side of Dalton at 8:00pm. Daily total 18 miles.
