Sake Bomber Initiation

(I have pictures from the original Minneapolis Meet Up on this site now).
When the_bill and I first wrote about our initial trip to the bar/restaurant named Chino Latinos, we knew we were going to include Chino's for the Minneapolis Meet Up in August 2008. All of those write-ups inspired acowboy, who wanted to become a Sake Brother, to travel to Minnesota this weekend! We know there are others that are equally inspired, and the door is wide open whenever you want to come to Minneapolis!!!
The initiation goes something like this:
The waiter or waittress first ties a bandana around your head, and then puts in the order for Sake Bombs.
The drink itself is a mix of Sake and Red Bull.
One must then place two chopsticks over the larger cup, and place the smaller cup on top of the chopsticks.
Then, at the count of three, you pound your fists on the table until the smaller cup falls into the larger cup.
Then you yell BONZAI, and slam down the drink.
The best picture I have of Sake Initiation is one from the Meet Up last year. You can actually see the splash of the Sake going into the Red Bull! This is actually from Julie's (Pinchora) blog from the Minneapolis Meet Up last year - she took the amazing photo!
Julie also has a movie mini clip of one of the actual Sake Initiation in action here.
My friend, Lindy, and Bill's friend, Kevin, also joined us, and became Sake Brother and Sake Sister!
The food was excellent, the crowd fun and inviting, and the experience was wonderful!
And....our menus were even personalized, to welcome Adrian to Minneapolis and to Chino Latinos...Bill, that was awesome!!!
