Jaeger Jousting at Blarney's Pub and Moose Country

On Friday, Adrian and I were able to venture out again into the brisk Minnesota wind. I was expecting a delivery by UPS at my apartment at 10:30, but the package never did arrive (still searching for it!). Famished, we walked the three blocks down to my local area of St Anthony Park's downtown area, past the local supermarket, bank, post office, dentist, auto repair shop, jewelry store, antique shops, and finally to Dunn Brother's Coffee Shop. A part of the store is a Finnish deli, and so we enjoyed a great breakfast of sausage and potatoes, and made plans for the day today.
I then drove the Big Chief to Gabby's, a bar I used to bartend at during my college years. We also drove through Northeast Minneapolis, and over to the Warehouse District, past a lot of the bars and restaurants in the Minneapolis downtown district, and even past the Minnesota Twins new baseball stadium that will be opening next year.
Unfortunately, we both needed more sleep. I dropped off Adrian at the lightrail train depot so he could get back to his hotel, and I returned to my apartment for some shut-eye.
Later that evening I caught a bus ride from my apartment to Dinkytown, and to the Irish pub called Blarney's. Bill (the_bill) arrived a short while later, and we both had a Guinness while waiting on the Big Chief. While we waited, Adrian and Beth's driving adventure though Minneapolis was taking them through uncharted areas, and became a losing battle. Finally, we directed Beth to drop Adrian off at the Metrodome, and Bill and I went to pick him up.
The three amigos shared jaeger bombs together at Blarneys...but they just were not as good as the ones we had at Britt's the night before.
We made the decision to go to the bar that Beth and her friends were going to that evening, called Moose Country. It was a half hour away, just a short drive from Dinkytown (Dinkytown web site) (Wikipedia on Dinkytown)
The bar was a tad bit older in age than Barney's college crowd, and a bit more animated. We got to see Beth's new haircut, and met her friends. We also met the table on the other side of Beth, and one of which was celebrating her birthday.
We did some jaeger jousting at Moose Country, and this bar's jaeger bombs were better than Blarney's. While watching the dancing going on below us, it soon became apparent that the "birthday girl" we met earlier had way too much alcohol in her system, and was falling into and all over her girlfriends. Finally, she could no longer stand up, and all of her friends were able to get her out of the bar and into a car.
We had our usual fun teasing the waittresses, and heckling the local dancing crowd. The Moose Country was a lively atmosphere, and a good time was had by all. A special thanks to Bill for all the driving!
