Our train to Heidelberg was pre-booked about a month ago as it's cheaper if you book them in advance. The train was due to leave at 9:40am and we got up at 7:30am but went back to sleep until 8am as the free breakfast doesn't start till 8am on Sundays. We were making OK time and were just packing up the last of our bags at 9:20am when a guy in our room asked us what time it was.

We told him it was 9:20am and he said, "Yeah but didn't the clocks go forward last night..." F-U-C-K! Pardon my language but yes, apparently last night was daylights savings so it was actually 10:20am which means our train left 40 minutes ago and we were not on it. The tickets we bought were only 29euro and non-transferable. The guy who was talking to us said that he had an open ticket that he would sell to us for 35euro if we wanted it. Well we didn't just want to buy it off him so he came to the station with us and we made sure with one of the ticket people that it was a valid ticket. So we bought that off him and got another one for 63 euro so all in all was another 100euro to get to Heidelberg.

We were pretty pissed off and just sat angrily in Starbucks until our next train came at 11:43am. There was no way in hell we were going to miss this one!
