I got to create my own shot glass! Kit was so patient with me and I left with out a single burn!
I'm working on a list of all the states that I haven't visited and I thought I would be able to cross Colorado off the list with a weekend trip to visit friends.  Unfortunately, I enjoyed the trip so much a three day visit does not seem justice for such a beautiful place!
I stayed with a family friend named Kit, who is a party and a half!  He owns a professional glass art studio (http://www.blakestreetglass.com) that I got to visit and he showed me the ropes.  He even let me blow my own shot glass!  Who does that?  It was amazing!  It was such an experience that I almost passed out, literaly!  I guess I'm not in shape to be blowing several pounds of pressure through a long metal tube,  Let's say that is a refined art.
While I was there I visited Mt.

Evans which is the Highest Paved Road in North America.  It was a 14 mile drive up hill with no railing.  Could be a bit nerve racking if you're affraid of hieghts.  I thought it would be great to get up to the top and see the sunset over the beautiful countryside....yeah, elevation comes with a price.  The further up I went the more cloud cover moved in.  It was rather comical, no wonder Kit chuckled at me for the idea of it.  Thankfully there was enough of a break in the clouds to take a couple dusk photos.
On the drive back to Denver I passed an exit for Red Rock.  I wasn't sure what it was, but I got the idea it would be something like a park in the Sedona fashion with large red bolders all around.  I decided to check it out the following day and what a wonderful place!  It is an open air ampatheatre that is open to the public for running or tourist stops.  It was absolutely beautiful and the sounds were amazing.  There were a few stage hands setting up for a concert and with no speakers or audio support you could hear them from all around.  I've added it to my list: go to a concert at Red Rock!  One more adventure to get to!
