More Angkor temples

Well, what is to say about Angkor Wat? I think many travel blogs here are written about it, but no picture or description can really live up to the real version but I'll try. I really enjoyed Angkor Wat, it's one of the most breathtaking monuments in the world and I can advise everybody to come and visit! Only the Angkor Wat temple can take up to three or four hours to visit, it's huge! Go to the back of the temple, it's less visited by tour groups, and much more quiet.
The Ta Prohm temple is really my favourite, it's a mess, but a beautiful mess. I just love the old gigant tree-roots growing everywhere, the atmosphere is very special. It was not very busy at the time I was there, which only increased the mystery of this temple. Next was the Banteay Kdei, also one of my favorites. Small, but a very beautiful temple.

Below are pictures of Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, Banteay Kdei & the Srah Srang. And some pictures of a really cool gigantic tree house near Angkor Wat

Good hangout
Cafe de la Paix (inside Hotel de la Paix) is one of the best breakfast and lunch places in Siem Reap, together with the Blue Pumpkin. I think it is quite popular with expats, but it's still not very busy here. (But right now, it's not very busy in town at all..) Where to start?
First: the ice-cream is very good, possibly in the Blue Pumpkin league. The sandwiches and salads are heavenly. Plus you can sort of choose your own sandwich or salad by filling in a form and thus getting exactly the thing you want. :) They also have pie, cake and muffins. Plus probably the best coffee I've had in town (Lavazza). In the mornings they have very affordable breakfast menu's. This all with excellent wifi, makes it a good hangout. It's maybe a little bit more expensive than other cafe's in town. But compared to room prices in Hotel de la Paix ($300 and up) this is a bargain!
