Island hopping - Pi Ley Bay, Viking cave, Maya Bay, Lo Samah Bay, Bamboo Island, Koh Phi-Phi
May 19, 2008
Everyone was excited to visit the islands, especially Phi-Phi island. Tragedy happened in 24 dec 2004. Tsunami hit n wiped out everything within few minutes. However, their strong believe and determination keep the island back to life. Good job!!
We hopped on speed boat, starting with Pi Ley Bay. We were lucky, the weather was hot n sunny. The bay surrounded with limestone cliff with crystal blue water. Great place to snorkel. You can see all fishes with naked eyes. Next, Viking cave. It is a place much revered by the local people who come there to collect the swift’s nests used to make Bird’s Nest Soup, a Chinese delicacy. Soon we reached Maya Bay. Maya Bay is a stunningly beautiful bay that's sheltered by 100-metre high cliffs on three sides. Get ready your camera, it's just remarkable. Mamamia!! The white sandy beach, perfect!!! Sadly there were no accommodations provided, camping do allow with their own supplies. Almost noon, stopped at Phi-Phi Island for lunch. Everything looks completely new, restaurants, stalls, bars and resorts. Shall stay here on my future trip. After lunch, we heading to Bamboo Island and Lo Samah Bay beforing heading back to Ao Nang. Another great place for snorkeling, with an amazing range of tropical fish in crystal clear waters.
Another great day!! Tired n hungry.... I need massage and mango sticky rice to ease my craving. So wat's next???
