Gouda, Netherlands

Over the years I have taken many pictures, done lots of photoshopping, both on my own and others photos but never given a lot of thought to painting. But recently I saw a gallery of “paintings” that had no paint on them at all.

Gouda, Netherlands

Stephanie's original photo

This second painting was inspired by Stephanie, (moshers_moll) and a picture she had taken in Gouda, Netherlands.  When I wrote and asked for her permission to use the photo she asked and sent along the photo.  My answer to her was..

That was indeed the one I smiled at, and for a very good reason!!  It is such a great shot and just begging for someone to sit there on that shady grass with some oils and a brush or two and create a wonderful painting.  Or like I do, just using software to do some adjusting, slight changing and bring an everyday sight to a more exciting piece of visual pleasure.  But I couldn't have done my thing without a great original shot!  Thanks.

This one took shape very quickly and once I waited for the car to drive out of the picture and a heavy shadow at the bus stop to leave.  The original was wonderful and needed nothing, but the colors seemed to pop in the reflecting water in the “painting” and again brought it to life.
