We had been warned the day before that we would be locked out of the apartment pretty much all day today, but we didn’t mind. Until we woke up with hangovers.

Nicole had to go to her internship and had to lock up the apartment. We figured we would just walk around Brussels and see as much as possible by foot. We packed up some sandwiches and snacks and off we went. We began by checking out a few more European churches and then found a huge park in the heart of the city where we sat and ate lunch.

After consuming our gourmet homemade sandwiches, we headed back to the central area. This was my third time now in a week here, but my first time during the day. The place was thriving with shops and restaurants as far as the eye could see. The place was packed.

We stopped in a few stores and checked out some of the menus and continued our walk through Brussels. We soon arrived back in the main square and walked through City Hall. After a short photo op at the Manikin Piss (My camera worked somewhat today) and a stop for some Belgian waffles, we went down to the train station.

There was no train for us to catch, but information to be had. We had no place to stay the next night after the Coldplay Concert and we had to find a place to keep our bags. Luckily, there are luggage lockers at the station for four Euro that we could keep all of our bags in for 24 hours. Perfect. We all knew we had a long two day stretch coming up.

By that time it was almost 4:00pm. Back to the park we went for a long nap.

I slept for about an hour and then read my book and people watched for another hour before heading home. It was a gorgeous day out and we simply joined the other hundreds of people spread out on the grass doing exactly what we were. Finally, it was time to end our ten or so mile trek across Brussels and head back to the apartment.

We made another quick stop at the local grocery store to get some more ingredients for our chicken pasta and then arrived at the apartment around 7:00pm. We cooked up another storm, indulged in our food, and proceeded to have a lazy night around the apartment. It was a restful evening of cards, laundry, and talking about the upcoming days. We had a train in the morning back to France for the concert, no place to sleep afterwards, and then a combination of four trains the following day all the way to Berlin. It would be the longest two day stretch of my life so far.
