Fart ur as! =D ohhh I have brain damage, surely..
Spent the day with Irene in Amarente, where she had to do beacoup travail  trying to get a project approved in the City Hall there. And got to see another small town in Portugal, some say one of the most beautiful, but everything is beautiful to me here! We ate some farts! Okay so they're called farturas and basically they're a cross between churros and funnel cake!! Is that not the most delicious thing you have ever heard of?? Portugal sure likes their desserts! And then we had chocolate milk and bubbly water by the lake on a beautiful sunny day. My pictures don't do it justice!

Afterwards we went to meet the volunteer architect from Habitat for Humanity at the main cafe near the City hall. I couldn't believe my eyes, the women that I saw in Amarente today were STUNNING.
Irene! =DDDDD
There was a lady at the cafe, still as stone reading a book in the most gorgeous business skirt suit I have ever laid eyes on, complete with roman-goddess styled gold stilletos, smoke-colored gradient sunglasses and her hair pulled into a sophia loren type bun. I all of a sudden had the urge to throw my canvas shoulderbag and half my wardrobe in the garbage immediately.

The architect was this young, graceful and a bit serious type that was the kind of pretty one can not humanly get tired of. Her face was so pleasant I began counting on my fingers.. pretty, well-spoken, confident, not-showy, graceful, and obviously kind as she's volunteering her services for Habitat, right? I was so tempted to hate her until she engaged me in a 1 hour conversation about Japan and Korea and travel in general.
just a little ciggy!
Worldly and thoughtful too... I give up! I was not surprised when she pulled up to us in her adorable BMW convertible to say goodbye before taking off into the equally-as-beautiful surroundings of Amarente. Sigh. There's success and then there's THAT kind of successful in this lifetime...

I have to admit, I'm SUPER spoiled here. There's hospitality, and then there's Irene-level hospitality, which blows everyone else out of the water! I don't know what to do, I think I'm going to be here until end of June and I've got to figure out a way to either make some money or use my time well applying for work and, ahem, finishing my feasibility study...

Right now, I'm just recovering. I don't want to go back home sick and have to deal with all the pressures of family and all the things that are always expected of us. Blegh. I know I'm escaping reality a little longer, I'd be foolish not to, I think.
