Family trip to Rome – May 1-4, 2009 One of the best things about traveling is having the opportunity, once in a while, to share a fantastic place with people you love. This was my great privilege last weekend when I was able to take my kids to Rome.

Waiting around in the train station at Fiumicino

I wasn't too concerned about meeting up with my kids at the airport in Rome, but was happy to encounter no problems in finding them immediately upon their arrival at the airport. My flight arrived a couple hours before theirs did so I had plenty of time to figure that out. We met in the baggage area, as they got off the bus that delivered the passengers from the flight from Barcelona.  So great to see them!!!

We quickly walked from terminal B to the train station - non-stop talking all the way!  The automatic machines for buying tickets were out of order so I had to wait in line at the station’s ticket office.  No problem. We’re in no rush.  Eventually I got the tickets and we headed to “binario 2” where our graffiti covered train would leave from.
