Driving around the panoramic view in the countryside of Puerto Rico. Eating scrumptious roasted chicken for lunch on the roadside, and had the most delectable Pinacolada. My Corona beer drinking experience! :-P Best part: swimming in the secluded beach ;-) Having three different itineraries/Airlines just to get back home.

Puerto Rico weekend getaway

When I travel, there are only two significant things in my list: Book a flight and Rent a car. I don’t worry much of where to sleep, as long as I have a car that can take me anywhere. I’m good to go. Finding a hotel is less important to me. Besides, I can always find one while driving around and sightseeing.

My friend and I went to Puerto Rico just for a weekend getaway. On our first day in San Juan, we decided to get out of town and drive across Puerto Rico to see the countryside. Within just few minutes of driving, the scenery changed drastically and we found ourselves in the lush jungles and bamboo forests.

The countryside is really beautiful. We decided to take a small detour to drive on the Panoramic view. We stop by on the roadside and had the most delicious roasted chicken and fried Plantain banana for lunch. Then we continued driving and found a lot of interesting things. While enjoying the nice mountain and ocean view, my eyes caught the big Pinacolada sign on the roadside. It was the most delicious afternoon treat I’ve ever had for so long. The price was reasonable too.

Going Home.

Although I like going places and exploring as much as I can, but as they always say: “There’s no place like home” To me, it always feels good to sleep in my own bed. I can walk with my eyes close towards the bathroom without bumping my head in the dark. On my way back, it was terrible. My original flight back home (United Airlines) got cancelled for mechanical problem. So, I switch my flight to American Airlines. Unfortunately, they’re booked and even looking for volunteer. Finally, US Airways was able to accommodate me. I got home past midnight, and it felt so good to finally lay down in my own bed. Thinking: “where do I go next?”

So you are flying when seat available??? Thats nice and cheap and exiting. I fly when much on stand by, and sometimes i have to take a detour to get home.
