The entrance to the park

Today was my first day in Kentucky. I took a very early fligh from Monroe's airport in a rainy morning. The flight was OK, and after a scale in Memphis, I arrived to Lexington at 12:00 PM (local time), and immediatly headed for the Kentucky Horse Park.

Actually, you could see this park from the plane as it is coming down. When I was at the front gate, I was amazed by how beautiful and well taken care of this place is. I got myself the admision ticket and also a ticket for a horse ride, which was going to take place at 1:30. It was a little colder than I expected, since it's may and Louisiana was steamy hot. However, once riding the horse, I forgot about the weather and just enjoyed the ride. I think I had only done this once before in my life, but this time was better.

Not only the day was cloudy and beautiful, but also, I could enjoy most of the grasslands of the park during this ride. My horse's name was "Tank", he was really friendly, didn't have a hard time controlling it. The horse of the girl who was ahead of me in the lane was a little more picky. He would go wherever he wanted lol. He also pooped during the way (well, maybe mine also did and I didn't even know, lol).

When we came back, I headed for the Horse Museum. They have a great collection of chariots and other vehicles pulled by horses in past times. You can also see some very good information on the use of horses by many cultures. It was both informative and entertaining.

After that, I just went taking a walk on the barns inside the park, and the Hall of Fame. They have some great stallions there. Horses are really amazing. A beautiful, noble and elegant animal. Never got to appreciate them so much until now. I'm so glad I came.

The in the evening, I didn't do much, really. I just went looking for a restaurant, but I will tell about it in my review for O'Charley's. But for what I saw today, Lexington is a very beautiful city.
