New York Hotel
The second day of my trip i was already 5 cm shorter because we walked so much on the first day in a temperature over 90 fahrenheit. This day needed to be a little more relaxed otherwise, i wouldn't make it until the 1st of May! We got up a little later than the day before, had breakfast and walked the other way of the Strip then the day before. We started at the Luxor. That was a good start. We could reach the hotel by a corridor from The Excallibur to The Luxor and it was also air conditioned! Who wouldn't like that in the heat of Vegas? The Luxor is a beautiful hotel in Egyptian Style. The hotel is actually the shape of a pyramide and there's a sfynx in front of it. Inside the hotel you see some Egyptian villages. I know this sounds strange, but hey, you're reading a Las Vegas blog.
Inside the Luxor Hotel
Everything is strange in Vegas. Wait until you hear what happens in the next hotel. A train brought us from The Luxor to The Mandalay Bay. This is really a luxury hotel. I mean, the Luxor is very nice but The Mandalay Bay is very very fancy. At first, there didn't seem to be something very spectacular in this hotel but it's located in Vegas so there had to be something. And there was something. This hotel has it's own reef with sharks and turtles! And this isn't a small reef. We spent an hour here to see al those different fish and we had some drinks in this hotel after the shark visit. I hoped we could have lunch in one of the restaurants in this hotel because there is a wine rack that is so huge that the waiters have to fasten themselves on a rope, and then have to climb it, to get your bottle of wine.
In the Luxor Hotel
I would love to see that since i'm a winelover but i could only see the rack from a distance because it was too early, the place was still closed. We decided to take a look at The Hotel, which is very fancy but there's not a lot to see since it's the only hotel on the Strip without a casino and then went back to our hotel to change. We had to dine early that day because we had to be at a show again that night. We had a great dinner at a french restaurant Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris hotel, with a great view on the fountains of the Bellagio hotel. After dinner we went to Ceasars Palace to see the last but one show of sir Elton John in Las Vegas. What a show was that! It was really over the top, the theme was definately Vegas. I suppose some people thought it was a little bit too much. Let me put it this way: It was a show for a mature audience. But of course it was great to be at a show like this in Vegas! Thank you Elton!
Very nice food and a great view!
This restaurant is located in the Paris hotel. It has a nice interiour and a very nice outdoor terrace where you also can have dinner. The restaurant has french cuisine and they are cooking really nice. The food was excellent and so were the wines. The view is great. You can see the fountains of the Bellagio while you're having dinner. The waiters are really trying to make you have a great evening. This is really a great place to have dinner in Vegas. We had the best dinner in Vegas in this restaurant!
Elton John!!
We've been to the last but one show of Elton John and the Red Piano is Ceasers Palace in Vegas. What can i say about it? It's not just a show with Elton playing piano and singing. It's much more then that. It was really a Vegas show. The theme was LOVE this night. In the background of the stage was a huge screen with a film of people in love. Most of them were naked. There were huge balloons of boobs in the theater and also 2 balloons of apples with a balloons of a banana in the middle. Right... Really an adult show. But with the best music ever. During the last songs, a part of the audience could even get on stage to dance. It was an incredible show that can only be performed like this in Vegas.
