Times Square by night
Today was Statue of Liberty day. Again we woke up early. It was my idea to sleep a little longer today but not everyone seemed to have the same idea so we were having breakfast at Au Bon Pain at 9:30 again. I know, it's not that late but after 2 weeks of getting up early, walking and traveling so much, a little sleep wouldn't be that bad. Anyway, we took the subway to the southpoint of Manhattan. We waited for the Ferry to Ellis Island there. We didn't get off the boat to climb the statue but the view alone was already impressive. The only thing is that when you don't get very close, you can't see how big the statue actually is. Not only the view of the statue but also the view of Manhattan was very impressive. When you see the skyline from a distance, you can see the gap in the skyline where the twintowers used to be.
Times Square by night
Really strange. We enjoyed to boatride but i was almost sleeping. I wasn't the only one. Everyone was very tired but my father even had his eyes closed now and then. When some of our group decided that they wanted to go shopping at Macy's, i made my own decision: I would go back to the hotel to have some sleep. Maybe i'm the only woman on earth, but i just HATE shopping. My father also prefered to have some sleep. I had a great afternoon and i really felt better after this! Especially that night i was happy that i slept a little because we had tickets for The Metropolitan Opera, Il Trovatore. It was so beautiful! The best opera house in the world and what a great performance! Wow!
