I always enjoy Brussels. Each visit brings me a better understanding of the city. I always stop at my favorite chocolate shop that is near the Grand Place. It's name is Chocopolis. It's homemade and just fantastic. I bring all of my American friends here and even send it to my mother. This trip brought me to the Grand Place, again where there was much going on. I was even apporached by a bridal shower/party asking for drinking money. They were really cute and so I gave them 5 euro. You can see the picture I took with the bride to be.
David and Charmain were with us and I wanted to show them another favorite spot in Brussels. I took them to the Parc Cinquantenaire. It's a triple arch with horses and chariot on top.
We also went to the Palais de Justice. It's a huge neo-Roman building that dominates the skyline from many points in the city. It's the largest building constructed in Europe in the 19th century. It was created by Leopold II who also created the Belgian Empire.
We also went out to the Atonium. Rob has been there before but, I had not. It's a scaled model of an atom. An amazing sight, that's for sure. We played like children in the park infront of it. As the sun set the lights came on and it became even more of a sight to behold.
What a day, enjoying Belgian chocolate, a bit of time on the Grand Place and finally visiting the Atonium. I can't wait until my next journey to Brussels, a favorite city of mine.
