So i've been working my way up through the baltic states, and according to what i have heard, they have been getting progressively better. Riga, was better thatn Vilnius, and Tallinn is better that Riga.
All three are very similar, with nice old towns, cobblestone streets, cheap beer...etc.
Both in Vilinus and Riga, a day sufficed in walking around and chekcing out the old towns. I did the mandadorty occupation/kgb museums, which detail the nazi and russian occupations of the countries...I'm skipping the museum in estonia. All three of the countries are develping quickly. Huge amounts of Stag and hen parties (british bachelor and bachelorette ) are in each of the cities taking advanatage of the cheap beer, cheap budget airlines, and beautiful women.
Tallinn is a gem. It is a beautiful old town that makes you feel as if your staying in a old castle. The medival walls circle the city. I had a good medieval meal of honey beer and a leg of wild boar, at a very cheese restaurant.
Tallinn is also a medieval vegas. With the countless stag and hen parties praying the streets. At night every other door is a bar, club, or strip club...that stay pounding until early morning hours. I havent partaked in the party, partly because i've felt a bit sick, and partly because i dont want to deal with a bunch of drunk brits, had enough of that last summe rin london. tomarrow i am going to take the ferry across to helsinki, finalnd for the day. Should be a nice relaxing trip. Its been bitterly cold here, last night if there was any precipitation, it would have been cold enough to snow. But today was blue skys and a nice crisp wind...very nice.
