on our way to Chiling Waterfalls

We all decided to go to “Chiling Waterfalls”. I’m too lazy to write it here, but if you want to know more about the place, just visit this site: http://www.waterfallsofmalaysia.com/51chiling.php hehehe.

Meeting time was 9:00am in front of Menara Jaya Condominium in Petaling Jaya where all the girls live. As usual, Mike and I were late. We arrived there at 9:30am. But not surprisingly, the girls are late too! Haha so we left the place at 10am already.

None of us have an idea how to get there.

We just rented a van (450RM back and forth) to bring us to the location. We were 7 all in all: Earlene, Mike, Revs, Jen, Jennette (Jen’s sister), Janine (Jen’s cousin), and myself.  It was a long 2-hr drive from KL to Kuala Kubu Bharu.

We arrived at the trekking entrance at almost noon time. There were already a group of people in there. It looks like a group of university students having their field trip hehehe.  We’ve learnt that to get to the waterfalls, we need to trek for 1.5 hours and cross 6 rivers. Isn’t that cool! ;) The weather was perfect; hot and humid so we’re not worried about the water’s current. We started our LONG trek at past noon.

Funny, because we were just about to start heading the trail when we already lost our way as we headed the wrong direction hahaha.

So we went back from where we started and just followed others hehe. We were very agile as we were not worried to get lost as we were following a group of people; so camwhoring it is! Hehehe. Then on the first river we passed by, we decided to rest, soaked our feet and stayed there for a while. We were all excited relaxing on that place that we forgot to realize that the group that we were going after already left us behind. So with no choice, we trailed on our own. Earlene and I led the pack! But me having no sense of direction, we got lost again hahaha. We didn’t notice the sign on the 2nd river crossing. Instead of crossing the river, we headed straight up to the mountain. Then probably, more than 30 minutes of walking, Earlene sensed that we were on the wrong way. The trail is becoming steeper and steeper and less passable. There’s nobody, no signs of foot prints or whatsoever, and we can’t no longer hear the sound of running water in the river; feels like we’re already somewhere in the middle of the mountain LOL.

We headed back and found the right way. But since it’s already past 1pm, we were all starving. So right before crossing the 2nd river, we decided to eat our lunch first on the riverbank before we continued our trek.

After 2-hr trekking, crossing 6 rivers, we finally made it. The waterfall is humbling. The cool water running from up high was perfect. Though the pool was not as deep as I have expected, but since I don’t know how to swim, it was fine with me hehe. The group of people that we saw from the registration area were already there and having some good time.

Without wasting our precious time, we jumped to the water and enjoyed the moment.  Jen, Jen’s sister and her cousin climb up to the rock and jump to the deep part of the fall.

They all know how to swim so they were not scared to try it. But not in my case though hahahaha. I’m just contented watching them LOL.

After a while, most of them went back, leaving us and one group of locals. This time around, the place is already all ours. But then suddenly, the clouds became gloomy and started to drizzle. So we hurriedly packed-up our things and left the place before the rain comes. But alas! Just before we cross the 1st river back, the rain started to pour us. It was raining hard! We’re all soaking wet and so as our bags. (* wish I could take pictures but my cam is not water-resistant hehe). We already know the way back so we didn’t get lost. But since it was raining, the current of water made us difficult to cross the rivers. But thankfully, we all arrived at the starting point safely.

And just before we called the trip off, one crazy event happened that night.

geez! what the hell I was doing here hehe
We were caught by the police! How nice, right? Hehehe. On our way home, our driver got lost again and can’t find the way back to Menara Jaya Condominium. Apprarently, we entered a one-way street!  The police caught us and asked us to pull over. Then we were all brought to the police station hahaha. But we didn’t get off the van as it was our driver’s fault. But the officer confiscated all our immigration cards and verified them in the immigration office if we are all legal aliens here hehe. Good thing, that all of us had our immigration cards and/or passports in hand. After the driver settled his case, and ours have been verified, he dropped us on our destination places.

It was indeed a nice way to spend this weekend. Tiring but the experience is worth it. And if they plan to go back again, I would definitely join to see the two more waterfalls. But I hope there’s no police incident anymore hehehe.

You know bro, I just realized last night when we came home that my immigration card will expire next month! I better ask my employer to renew it ;). I know my friend took a pic of the police station, I'll copy it from her and add it here hehe :P.
