Seim Reap, Cambodia
Cambodia is amazing and inspiring. The temples are beautiful and so are the people. The children are the sweetest and unforgetable.
When I was there I went to a cello concert fundraiser by a Kantha Bopha Foundation. Dr. Beat Richner is a doctor from Switzerland that has raised money and opened three free hospitals for Cambodians. He spends all his time there and saves 2,800 children a year and gives them vaccines and education on how to stay healthy. His website is http://www.beatocello.com/.
He’s an amazing person and worth reading about.
We also went to the Aki Ra's Cambodian Land Mine Museum and Relief Fund. Aki Ra has an amazing story. He deactivates landmines with a stick and housing victims and land mine incidents. Land mines are a terrible problem and kill and disfigure many innocent people. Aki Ra is dedicated to clearing Cambodia of land mines and educated people on the problem. I bought many of his shirts that the money goes to helping the cause. He’s website is

A great book to read about the genocide is “First they killed my Father” by Loung Ung. She is a survivor of the genocide and now an author and activist. Her website is

Get her books. Her story is amazing and deeply moving. She is a great hero and peacemaker.
I loved Cambodia and all the people. I can’t wait to go back. Just educating yourself on the people, country and the problems is a big help. Please read about Cambodia. They’re so inspiring. Find out how you can help these wonderful people.
