Phi Phi Islands, Thailand
Best part of the trip! Gil (my fiancé), my sister, Daile and her boyfriend, Sean all took a boat ride to the Phi Phi Islands. You can arrange an easy tour with any of the tour companies on Phuket. You can also stay at the hotels on Phi Phi Island but we stayed at Banyan Tree in Phuket.
The beaches were amazing. Especially monkey beach, where you stop and feed the monkeys little bananas that the tour guides bring for you. They are so used to the tourists that they ran out as soon as they see the boats because they know you have food. They just grab the food right out of your hand…poor manners! Then we went snorkeling a lot and I saw on octopus underwater! SO cool! We had so much fun and I would recommend anyone to do this tour. At one point in the boat trip, they pulled up to a lagoon with no beach just pitons jetting out of the water and we jumped of the boat and floated around. So relaxing!
We also stopped at Maya Bay, this is where they filmed the movie “The Beach” with Leonardo Dicaprio.
Since this my sister has moved to Chiang Mai to work in the schools and I plan to see her next April 2008.
