Bangkok, Thailand
We did all the tourist sights. The Royal palace, ate on top of the State Tower at the restaurant called Sirocco (the most incredible view). It was very expensive for Bangkok standards, the prices where more like Manhattan standards but the view and food were worth it. We also visited the zoo, which is something I like to do in all cities.
We stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel, which is highly recommended by me. It was a beautiful modern hotel with Thai flare. It was clean and beautiful with two great restaurants and a great health food bar.
I liked the city but found it hard to get around and the taxi drivers kicked us out of the cabs several times for no apparent reason.
We walked around the Lumphini park which was relaxing and the biggest park in Bangkok. I nice release from the busy city.
I went to Bangkok last July.
Sirocco is definitely the most luxurious restaurant in Bangkok. Not that I've been to all of them but it's safe to say. It has the highest view in the city because it is on top of the State Tower.
The food is gourmet and expensive for Thailand standards but not any more expensive then a restaurant in Manhattan. The seating outdoors on the roof is the best, so try to go when it's not raining. They have a great, modern bar there too. Just to add. It is touristy and in most travel books, so if you were looking for something not as popular with tourist, this is not it.
Have a great time!
