driving into sunset

Here we are again.  Back on site for another round.  We still have a lot of digging to do but we hope to be done by July.  The first couple days were all set up getting the site ready.  We decided to start by finishing the first excavation from last year.  We had built a parking lot and set up an office trailer on an area that was still contaminated.  So we picked up where we left off.  It was a little trickier here because we had to work around a house and utilities such as gas, water and electricity.

We again work the long hours and get to drive into the sunrise and home to the sunset.  I got some shots while driving.  One morning we woke up to SNOW!  It was a late spring snow, at least an inch of the white stuff, but it was melted by noon.  It made the freshly plowed fields pretty.  I’ve often wondered why the stop sign on hwy 14 has a flashing red light.  I thought maybe it was because people zone out while driving and it is a little unexpected.  But now I think maybe it has something to do with the weather.  As I learned last fall, this area gets some nasty winter weather.  Strong winds and blowing snow make for harsh driving conditions.  I see also that wet, sticky snow makes for invisible road signs!
