This ongoing blog will chronicle the TravBuddies I have met in Honolulu.

It's more of Scott from Saskatoon

Scott (TravBud - ScottIsHot) was still in Honolulu and wanted to meetup again before he left the island.  Sure, sounds like a good idea.  I suggested we take some sunset photos because he's into photography too.

"Do you want to go to Magic Island and get some sunset photos?" I texted him.
"I already took sunset photos there"  was his response.
"How about Tantalus Drive?" I texted.
"I was there yesterday"
"Near the aquarium we can get some sunset shots of Waikiki Beach"
"That's a good idea"

Yay!!  I found a place where he had not yet taken photos.

At 6 pm I arrived at his hostel.  Scott jumped into the car and we drove a short distance to Kapiolani Park.   I had the foresight to bring two tripods for the sunset photos, but I neglected to bring my remote shutter release cable.  Damn!!!  At least we had the tripods.  We hung out on the beach for an hour and a half and took photos.  At 7:30 we packed up our equipment and went to dinner.  We went to the Big City Diner that's located by Ward Warehouse.  Scott was telling me about everything he has done in the past week:  hiking, snorkeling, scuba certified, driving around the island and hanging at the beach.  I'm glad he was having such a great time in Honolulu.

After dinner we strolled back to the car.  I drove Scott back to his hostel and headed home.  I wasn't able to go out drinking because I had an early morning obligation.  Another successful TravBuddy meetup!!

I really should have brought the shutter release. The tripods were set up in sand, so every time I pushed the shutter the camera would shift in the sand. A small amount, yes, but enough to blur the lights of the building. I didn't post those photos :(

Early morning obligation? Ummm...sounds mysterious!!! LOL!
You can't take good sunset pictures without a tripod. Good to have the remote shutter release cable, but it's not a must, right?! Love the pics!
