When I was back at school, in my final year, there was a school trip for the Classics students to go to Greece. We travelled around for a week and a bit, and it was a brilliant experience which really sparked my love for travelling (especially without my parents!) and Classics. It inspired me to travel to as many ancient sites as possible, Egypt, Rome and Turkey were to come!

Tolo

The coach journey to Tolo was the longest one we encountered, about 4 hours in total. We stopped in a random village for a late lunch at about 3, starving we all rushed to a supermarket ato search for sandwiches but only found frozen pizza, curiously. Still hungry we went and stood in the plaza and watched, afraid as a Greek (possibly mad) man kicked a football around, he kept kicking it really hard up into the air so that it came back down and pelted people; one time it caught a couple of our group.

We arrived in Tolo late in the afternoon, it was a strange place with little atmosphere situated right on a huge beachfront, our hotel was only metres away once again from the dashing waves.
