Amorgos
August 7, 2007
Amorgos is a very nice Island, a little dry but not so crowded and has a lot of interesting places to visit. Also here the first thing we did was looking for a camping... one had space but had no pool and was not near the sea (and since in august it is rather hot...) we decided to move on to Porto Aeghiali,.. there the camping was packed!! so we rented a scooter and started to look for a place to stay...and after 3 hours we found something, so..maybe in august it is not bad to make a reservation upfront. The island is small enough to travel by scooter. Agia Anna is not so beautiful as a beach ( since a big landslide came down) but the surroundings are beautiful and the Monastery is worthwhile to visite..all caved in the cliff. We walked all the way up to discover it closed during lunch time!! so we had to do it 2 twice in one day!! :D :D
