The Anticipation Of Whats To Come

Who says that just because you grow old, that you have to grow up and become mature? That you have to foresake your childish ways. Who says you cannot go and enjoy the zoo on your own at 26?

Good thing I brought my littlest niece so! Emma's mammy Shiela, decided to tag along too as did Sarah.

I had promised to take Sarah to the zoo ever since we met in Costa Rica. So i had to take her, if I didnt, it would be like if Jerry Maguire lied and didnt take that little boy to the zoo.

We finally got some good weather and set off. Its been many a moon since I last stepped foot in the zoo. it certainly has changed. You can see a lot of work is still on going but that could only be a good thing. I loved the new African habitat, it made things feel a lot less like a zoo and more like their natural habitats, albeit a whole lot smaller.

The New Attraction In The Zoo

Despite all the amazing animals, Emma truly was more excited by seeing the ducks in the lake when we first entered the zoo, maybe we should have just gone to the park beside my house!!

I really enjoy seeing the monkeys and apes when I go to the zoo. There is something amazing about those little guys. It was even better when I got Emma to keep calling one of the apes her daddy!!! It kinda backfired when I realised that everyone assumed I was in fact her daddy. Haha it did make it interesting when she called Shiela her mammy with Sarah there, I think we gave everyone some interesting people watching for the day!

We had a great day out. Emma loved it about as much as we did. Having Emma there justified me in seeing every attraction through her eyes and being as excited as she was at seeing the dog in the petting zoo! I really love how kids simply don't care what they look like and just jump at the opportunity of doing anything that they think might be fun.

Somebody once said that my goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am...

I say, forget the dog! I want to be half the man that my niece thinks I am!!
