While We Try To Teach Children All About Life, They Teach Us More

There is the old saying in Hollywood that you should never work with children or animals...
I disagree. Children have the most fantastic way of looking at life. Nothing is over complicated as we grown ups so often make things. Children see things for what they are and tell it like they see it.
If a child doesn't like you. They will tell you. How refreshing?
I love my nieces. I would spend everyday with them. In fact, as I write this, I am after getting Megan to fall asleep after a long day of random fun and hour after hour of watching Dora the Explorer...that girl freaks me out (Dora that is, not my niece). When I watch a football game and shout at the screen, I know they cant hear me, but I do it anyway. Dora the Explorer on the other hand.
My niece loves Dora, and her cousin Diego too. This is just something I have learned to come to terms with...children enjoy Dora the Explorer despite the fact that she is crazy. This, in my mind, makes children crazy yet I would still love to be able to see the world through their ever forgiving and unscrutinising eyes.
Where was I?
Ah right, children look on a life a different way than we do. Thats because they have not yet been beaten down by years of bitterness and mistrust that comes with the experience of our years. It is a natural change in our lives that has to occur but a little part inside of me dreams of having such wonder and trust back in my eyes.
