Of all the countries that I have visited, Japan is next to China the most elusive and overwhelming one by far. Because of its beauty and crazy contrasts, but most of all because of its people. Although due to a failing camera I can’t show you crystal clear Mount Fuji that I was very lucky to see on a rather rare occasion, I hope these pics give you an impression of the wonderful month I had back in 2006 and inspire you to pay a visit to this stunning country.

From Okayama it's not a far ride to Kurashiki. A small town in a hilly area where it can be damn cold in April. Brrrr.... I went there for a major traditional celebration that took place just when I arrived. Lucky me. It was nice to breath the atmosphere of a small town. In Kurashiki I met a guy from Turkey who was married to a Japanese girl. He used to work in Holland for a while so I could talk Dutch with him. It's a small world...
