This time, the title for the blog has a long sentence as it explained itself about the journey.

I think I was so lucky for having the chance to live in Freiburg, southern Germany. It is, how to put this, creme de la creme, the top of any tourism destinations all over Germany. That is, of course, my own opinion. You can have different thought though.

It began with a scene where I sat down in the main train station in Freiburg. I saw a lady, I think she was a Chinese, looked like she was curious about something. She walked across where I sat at least three times, looked at her watch over and over again. When at the fourth times she passed the place where I sat, moved by my reflex, I stood and stopped her.

I asked, "Do you come from Indonesia?" She was a bit shocked, maybe because nobody had ever asked her with that question before. Or maybe because she was worried and confused, whether to answer or just lied. I tried my luck at that time, I wish she came from Indonesia. All I want to do is to have Indonesian friends there which I haven't had any since I arrived in Freiburg. Unexpectedly, she nodded. She chose to answer my question with the honest one. That must be because my good intention reflected through my face...

We began to introduce ourselves to each other. Her name was Connie. The main reason she was there, at the train station, was to wait for a new friend that she has never met before. This friend was also from Indonesia. I thought that was the day when Connie's faith was to meet two strangers from Indonesia.

Perhaps you experienced this. If you live far away from your country, somehow you feel a strong bonding with other people that come from the same country as yours, no matter that it was the first time you met him/her. The feeling of being lonely in somebodyelse's land made your instinct searching for another creature that has the same characteristic as you are.

This happened to me. It happened to the stranger that she waited too. This stranger, asked her whether she can live in Connie's house since she need to stay several days in Freiburg in order to pass some university tests there. This stranger was in the same high school as Connie in Jakarta. By the help of an alumni mailing list of that school, she found Connie's email address.

The friend that Connie waited came from Flensburg, north of Germany.

It was located in the border between Germany and Denmark. At that time, I thought it was very far away from where I stayed. I almost confirmed that I would not have the chance to explore northern Germany. I did not know that a few months later, I stayed in one of the northest city of Germany: Kiel. So, I learnt my lesson: better not judging your faith because you never know what lies ahead.

Finally, the friend of my new friend came. She was funny and very proud of her small city, Flensburg, which she defended it against my tease all the way back to the downtown. Soon, the three of us became close and we went to several tourism places together.

One of the places we visited was Vogtsbauernhof near Gutach. At first, we got lost since we thought the museum was in Gutach city.
Such a pretty background.. :)
We asked people for the direction. The location was near Hausach train station so we jumped to the train again until that station and went off there.

We had a nice time in this museum. You can see from our pictures.

On the way back home, we were picked-up by Connie's friend, a couple. They took us to a glass factory. They waited in the car while we took a look. The factory produced many things; vases, mini statues, lamps, christmas decorations (though Christmas was already over) and so on. Connie ordered one vase and we could see how the man made that vase. Interesting!

After that, we stopped for a drink in a nice cafe with a very beautiful view located on a hill. We said goodbye to the nice couple and went to the train station to go back to Freiburg by train. I love this trip and I will surely come to the open air museum again the next time I go to Germany with my family!
