Endless walk in Rome :)
MOnday i recived a text message asking if i would like to have a transport to Frankfurt with work. I texted back telling i could, but only 15 min later i recieved a new sms asking if i'd prefer ROme with an overnight stay. Now how could i refuse such an offer:)
I haven't been to Rome in years so once we got to the hotel it was still early so i had practiacally all afternoon and evening. At 3PM i walked out from the hotel with a map in my hand heading for the Metro to take the red line to the Vatican. First i had to get some Euro's since i hadn't had the time to get any money at the airport due to it being a transport with work and we're not allowed to do private stuff until we hand over the prisoner. Well, once i got to the Metro the cash mashine was out of order so the only way of getting somewhere was to walk there. I headed outside and walked thowards the direction of the Vatican. Before i got there i ended up many other places such as the Colosseum etc..
While walking thowards the Colosseum i made a phone call to my daughter, Rochelle. She asked me where i was and i told her "Oh just Rome" lol...she said "what? are you serious? You are so lucky and can you get me a pair of Vercashi boots " haha Typical her to ask for something :) Anyways, she started talking about going to Rome during the summer so we could go shopping, but i told her this summer we're not off to Rome so we'll that that trip another time. I also called my friend Cathie who lives in Cecina south of Piza in Livorno area. We spoke for a while until the phone cut off so i continued my walk along the streets of Rome :)
I ended up at Piazza Navona Originally built as a stadium in the first century for athletic contests and chariot races. Here i found a lot of wonderful art and i had to buy one to put on my wall at home. After a great deal of thinking i ended up buying one with quite warm colours and has been giving into a framing shop to have it done properly. For those of you who are visiting my home will have the pleasure of seing my new painting of Rome on my wall behind my dining table :)
Will finish later.....I'm at work right now :)
