Just sitting on the plane now heading back to London. I spent the last week with my cousin Amal and my little nephew Nalin in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Like I said in my last blog entry, my plan was basically to relax and not do anything, and that I did!
Most, ok everyday, I ended up sleeping in, then walking around the resort, maybe sitting by the pool, go have something to eat, play pool or table tennis, go go-kart riding with Nalin, just chill. It was nice. I did intend to party it up a bit while in Sharm. A lot of people I meet in Africa kept telling me how much fun Sharm was, so I was hyped! One thing they forgot to mention was that as a lone traveller or two single guys it was hard to get into any of the clubs! The world famous Pacha nightclub that I heard endless about since my arrival didn’t let me or my cousin in, because we weren’t in a couple! So we said we were a “gay:” couple, but that didn’t seem to impress the bouncers! Ah well, so much for partying it up! Lol So me and Amal headed to a bar and had a few drinks and chatted till late that night.
Other then partying, Sharm is considered one of the best places to dive and snorkel in the world. So me and Nalin went on a little snorkelling tour the other day. The snorkelling was great, I’ve never seen so many fish in my life, nor such blue water before! Funny the last time I saw water that blue was also in Egypt, in Aswan. Its piercing blue and so clear. The reefs in the region are teeming with different types of fish and colourful coral, it was pretty awesome. I think it would have been even more awesome if I didn’t end up puking FOUR times on the f-cking boat!! I’ve been on many boats before, but this one took the cake. I was so ill on that boat, frankly I couldn’t wait to get the f-ck off it! Problem was we were on that boat for about 6 hours.
The rest of the time in Sharm was spent with Nalin and Amal. Amal, being the Executive Chef, was pretty busy most of the days, especially with the big Christmas Eve dinner, so me and Nalin hung out. Playing pool was fun, then we placed some table tennis and chess too! Good times :) At night me and Amal would sit around chatting about life and business opportunities over some drinks. Amal has now been here in Egypt for about 9 years! He’s really made an name for himself in the region, everyone knows Chef Amal :) I can’t wait to see what he does next with his career, I’m sure whatever he does or where ever he goes, he’ll be successful and I wish him all the best.
So that’s basically it for my trip! I have 2 more days back in London, then guess where I’m going?!! Not home just yet. I’m going to go see Emile in Sweden!! Yup that’s right, I’m going to take one more little trip and head to Stockholm to party it up once again with the Big Swede! I can’t wait….Ikea here I come!!
