Visit from Vancouver

Thrue couchsurf we got a request from 2 canadians from Vancouver Canada. They were planning to go to the Dutch pop/rockfestival PINKPOP. It looked like a great idea. And it was Paul and Michele visited us for 3 days in may 2008. We had a great time. It was our first experience with couhsurf. 
After the landed at Schihol airport in Amsterdam, they arrived by train in the south part of the Netherlands and Dennis picked them up at the local trainstation in our hometown of Landgraaf. To bad rain was falling down fro heaven.   Coming home we got them settled and got some food and drinks during waiting before Jasmyn got home form work. In the evening we walked to the festival area and got some good beers! We also walked up the hill from snowworld to get a good view from the festival.

The stairs up the hill are the longest one in the Netherlands. On the hill is the largest artificial indoor ski hill in europe. After some beers we went down again and went back to were we started the evening. We had no tickets to enter the festial that day, but there is plenty of stuff going on around it.     

On the sunday we had some breakfest and we took Michelle and Paul to the festival, the had tickets for that day. Me and jasmyn allready planned outher things so we didn;t go with them (too bad!!) They stayed the whole day and had a great time. The final act was Rage Against The Machine wich was there favorite one. The god front row!! At the end of the night we picked them up at the festival Area and went home, we all fell a sleep after a long day!!

On monday morning both of them had to leave again for the rest of there trip in Europe.

While Jasmyn was already back to work, i took them for some sightseeing before heading out to cologne airport in Germany a good 90km from the dutch border. But we didn't leave before we had a huge canadian breakfest made by Paul and Michelle, i can tell you Dutch don't eat that much for breakfest, but is was a good breakfest (didn't eat for 2 days hahahah) I took them to the 3 landen punt. This is a place (very rare!!) were at one point three countrys come together. E.g. you can stand with one foot in Belgium and one foot in Germany, while touching Holland with your hand!! Lots of tourists visit this special place while visiting the South of the Netherlands. After this quick stop we drove to the airport. Arriving there we said goodbye and i thanked them for a nice 3 days!! We made some good friends.
