I had decided to head to Bruny Island and was aiming for the 11:05 ferry. I was sitting on the ferry at 11:07 trying to decide if I wanted to get out of my car and go stand so I could see the water, but I was packed in so tight between other cars and it was raining, I decided to stay put. I thought I could always hop out on my way back this afternoon. I sat in the car, listened to my IPod and wrote in my journal. It is only a 15-minute trip to the island, and the ride on the ferry is so smooth I didn’t even realise we were moving, I thought the engine had started and that there must have been some sort of delay, but when I stuck my head out the window of my car to look past the camper van in front of me I could see the Island.
As the ferry pulled into Bruny Island I was leaning over to put my camera down when the car lurched, I thought I was drunk and about to fall over, it was such a strange feeling, but it was just the ferry berthing at Bruny Island and I wasn’t expecting it.
Now it’s time to explore this pretty little Island off the coast of the other Island that’s hanging off the bottom of the big island that is Australia, so far away from everything...
"this pretty little Island off the coast of the other Island that’s hanging off the bottom of the big island that is Australia, so far away from everything..." you make it sound like the other side and far end of the world... wait a minute.., for me it is :)
