Salta
July 17, 2009
Anyone who goes to Salta will tell you how beautiful it is. It has a really nice atmosphere in the town and the landscape surrounding the area is spectacular.
My brother and I stayed for two days in Salta, not long enough, as we plan to return here after travelling through Bolivia.
The hostel we choose was Los Cardones. It was a bit futher than some other hostels from town but it was comfortable. They have a good courtyard area for hanging out, complete with cable tv if your looking for English speaking films and such.
Salta is more focused to tourism than some of the other towns Ive visited. They had a whole tourist festival while we were there with lots of typical dance and singing. The kids who performed were very funny doing Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid.
The cable car that takes you to the top of Cerro San Bernardo is worth doing. We took the cable car up to the top and then walked back down which made for a nice half day trip. The views from the top show off the whole town to its full.
