Kaputian Beach.

I just arrived from Manila and I got a call from Madam Aljun telling me hat he’s going to pick me up for a partay in his hometown, Kaputian in Island Garden City of Samal, otherwise known simply as IGaCoS.

By 3 P.M., I heard a car’s beep outside & when I peeped, there he was, all smiles, asking me to hurry up. And so I did, grabbed my backpack and hurriedly went inside his car. We then fetched MJ and bought some booze before we proceeded at the wharf area in Sta. Ana.

By 4:30 P.M., we’re on our way to Kaputian, our ultimate fave beach back in college.

When I saw the white beach, memories flashed back -- binge drinking by the beach, sleeping on the beach, and waking up the following morning due to high tide.

The ferry docked at the Kaputian wharf at around 5:30 P.M. And I found myself again walking in the small streets of Kaputian, heading to Madam Aljun’s home for free food.

:D Just like the old days.

When Madam Aljun’s colleagues arrived, we checked in at Kaputian Beach Resort. I noticed a few changes to this public beach, like a couple of newly built cottages and beach tables. Back then, we usually had the beach all to ourselves. And now, I was surprised (& disappointed) to see that it’s full! Cottages were all filled up, lots of tents were pitched, and beach tables were occupied. One thing never changed though, its powdery white sand and crystal blue waters.

After we got our rooms, we strolled along the beach and ended up at some karaoke ‘bar,’ had a few shots of my once favorite beer, Red Horse, while the four Madams did their thing. As Kaputian is just a small laid-back town, the bar closed at 9:30 P.M. Madness at the ‘bar’ ended with ‘Closing Time’ sung by Tots.

We went back to Madam Aljun’s place where we had our late dinner, which was just okay because they served lechon (roasted pig). :D Things were just getting better.

After dinner, we went back to the beach.

Luckily, most of the occupants were already asleep. When we found our spot for our continued drinking session, MJ brought out GSM + orange juice, and we drank, laughed & drank until the wee hours in the morning. I got smashed, just like the old days.
