Puerto Iguazu, Argentina Travel Photos
June 16, 2006
I can't even remember who runs this ferry boat or what it was even called, but I can describe it. Basically, it's a boat that shuttles tourists to the point where the Parana River and the Iguazu River meet. The whole gimmick is that you are floating in water that divides Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. And that's where the excitement ends. Too expensive and simply nothing more than a ferry ride with almost no point. The part that really ruined the experience for me was when the ferry stops by the shore to allow the tourists to gawk at and take photos of a group of Guarani performing a native dance. It felt very artificial and made us feel completely awkward since these poor people were just being exploited. Very sad.
