The next day we decided to drive to the coast. So we left Eugene heading west to lands unknown...to us any way. We arrived in Florence, OR around mid morning. There was a street fair going on and a car show. We had lunch at this little dive right on the water over looking the fair. It was the perfect place to people watch. The food was fabulous! Needless to say, we don't have the freshest seafood in the Dallas, Tx area so this was heaven to me! After lunch we drove up and down the coast around Florence. We stopped at several overlooks because the fog was just coming in and made for some really awesome looking pictures. At one place we stopped we kept hearing this sound, but it was muffled by the wind. So we leaned over the railings as far as we could and directly below us were about 20 sea lions! They were huge. We finally found a beach area so we walked along it's length for a while and found a path that led to an old light house atop one of the cliffs. We hiked up, but it was all boarded. Once we were up there, the view was breath taking! All in all we had a blast and I can't wait to go back. Which will be in August, hopefully.
