Our Bure
April 22

The guitars are being strummed as we  ride to the shore of Naviti Island. The locals were singing a welcome song. A bure and fruit juice awaited us.  Very good fruit juice I might add. We had tea time, as custom, and then joined the locals in some beach volleyball, which they love. I think it is because they know they can whoop us hands down. It was a friendly game until other Fijians came riding up from other islands. I freaked out when I saw they had on volleyball jerseys and we actually pro players. Needless to say, the visiting team got killed. It was fun though and the craziest volleyball game I have ever seen. Dinner was again, fish. I lost a lot of weight while in Fiji :)

The next day was nothing but sunshine and laying on the beach. We did get to visit a village on the other side of the island. This was a great trip because we got to meet some school children. The hike back over the mountain of the island was very difficult. Soooo hot!!!  It was one of my friends birthday too so we had a small celebration...at midnight...with the Fijians and all the beer we could drink. We were all a lil pissed at this point so Joe (a Fijian) decided to entertain with magic tricks that impressed us all.
