Muz arrived in Osaka, and Jessica who met before he is coming at Kyoto ( http://www.travbuddy.com/travel-blogs/112891/Beutiful-autumn-colors-Kyoto-2 ) also back in Osaka,we made a day trip to Mt.Koya.
To Mt.Koya it is easy take a Nankai line. If you use JR line it will takes 2.5 hour from Osaka. Nankailie has a good deal round ticket to Mt.Koya from Osaka, include train, cable car,bus in Koya. Befiore it was only for a day but nowadays,we could use it for 2 days so that meaning if you stay a night at temple in Kyoa still this ticket working you back to Osaka next day!
I've visited Mt.
OK,start to walk around. We go down to the center and stop by Kongobuji temple,it is restorationt yet so we just walked around.
From center of Koya,we took a bus to Okunoin. Okunoin is a very special place,we can't take picture at there and had to off your hat,so just show your regard. We bow at before heading a bridge which extent to Okunoin like other people do. and entered there. A man who took our one of funny pictures at Kongobuji told us that there is a "Miroku-ishi". Miroku-ishi is a heavy stone,it put on a cage there is a step. We could just into our hand in a cage and try to put a stone on the up stair. Some men tried it,of course we want to do that! I never noticed it before maybe in the snow no one can't found it :) Three of us couldn't do that it too much heavy carry up a hand.
There is no snowing but cold in December. We wanted to have a coffee and some sweets at warm place. There is a cafe near bus station of Okunoin. We had relax time there and enjoyed sweets! It's around 5pm but already getting dark out side. We took a bus to the carble car station back Osaka.
We enjoyed whole day, thank you for conntacting me Muz,and Jessica:)
