In the morning...I can't get up. David told me what time is it at some important moments like before meeting time 9am, past 30min 9:30am, we reset up 10:00am... I know,I knooow, "OK,will be leave soon" but couldn't get up. Around 11am,I tried get up and left the hotel. Frank and david note to them about our situation via facebook, other fellow contacted each other then finaly we could see at the rental Kimono shop. Ayaka pick up Kim at Kyoto St.,Ayako from Tokyo joined Ayaka at the rental shop, other Japanese friends arrival same shop and after there. I lay down there on the floor, that's the limitation I won't move anymore.
OH MY GOT!! I couldn't contact to Thomas who would joining us that meet-up. I think we should have extra connections SMS,facebook...etc I AM SO SORRY.
I've bought a kimono for this meet-up but even didn't back home since yesterday. I still feeling die and gave up to wear kimono that day...I was watching with laying down on the floor girls choise thier own kimono so happily:) Suddenly,my energy came back to me! I stand up and decided,I wear kimono with them!!! YES,this is the kimono de Kyoto meet-up,I do:) I thought that I can back here if I got feel sickness... Since I dressed kimono myself for 20years,it's my first experience someone dressed up me. I pray "Please don't make tigh the strings, please, please.
YES,here is our photo in kimono:)
We went to Kiyomizu temple which is close to there. So many people and school trip students. Some Japanese are wearing kimono as well. Kyoto city trying keep traditional city looking,so there is a "Kimono passport",you can get discounts at some shops or museum,temples...if you are in kimono. I think this is good idea. So many people wearing kimono at Kyoto. We realized that Frank was caught by school students, they wanted to check their level of English. Seems like they questions to Frank. Frank is super friendly person so he answering them very politly :) ...It was look like intview of hallywood actor! ;) We walked around there then found a cafe.
You have to wear "Zouri" when you are wearing kimono. I think it is so hard for foreigners. I was surprised that Jenny dreesed kimono and she walked whole day with zouri when she visited here Kyoto in April (http://www.travbuddy.com/travel-blogs/52404/Under-cherry-blossoms-Kyoto-55). David look like painful his feet as he had a problem after arrived in Japan too much walking... We wanted to take prikula in kimono and looking for it though fimaly couldn't find it:( We back restal shop at evening.
We left Kyoto then heading to Osaka for dinner and drink! David and Frank wants to take shower after sweating in Kyoto. We had a reservation at 8:15pm. Oh well, they will join us later! :) That restaurant is something unique. It's a prison restaurant, since enter to get the table also during our party.
We supposed to hang out over night today,So if we passed our last train then we should be with till morning. Kim left her hotel in Kyoto. Ayako have not had any accommodatein Osaka. OK! We will be stay till morning! ...really?? I almost die yesterday though...? OK,I would be broken:)
We went to the bar Mustang (http://www.travbuddy.com/Bar-Mustang-v820063) which is hanging bla from ceilling. Very small like not enough chairs for all of us. That bar is really crazy!! I think that bartender will be change each day, they all are so cool.
It was almost 3am around,we moved to an another bar just following the bartender. This is something funny,we just following to strange place! uhh...is that ok? but nobody doubt! And yes, that bar is better as they has safa, luckily it was vacancy:) some of us start sleeping there...it's nice for relaxing, take off shoes and sit down at sofa.
We wait the first train. Before back home,we wanted to have a ramen at the street. I know after drank, always want to have something soup or nuddles!! We had ramen at 5am then went to the station. It's morning and next day,Frank will leave for his hometown so we decided to see again at night for sushi!! Kim back to Kyoto at early morning...she took Shinkansen from Shinosaka to Kyoto, this is nice you can commute 15min between. Kim back to Osaka at night again:) David and Ayako are back to Tokyo that day.
Last night,Kim and Frank and me met at Tenma which is the place Kim and I met at first night. We had sushi and a few sake as we all have to back hotel/home by last train. What sad to say good-bye. We spent so nice time together. We are sure that will gather again,Osaka reunion!
