well we made it ok after the 30 hour train journey.  we dashed staright off to agra after one night in Delhi and went to see the Taj Mahal which was stunning.  we seemed to be the main attraction thouhg as all of the Indian tourists wanted their photographs taken with us! we then headed on to Jaipur which was brilliant - very hot, lots of bustling bazaars and camals wandering through the high street.  We went to the observatory where the sundials can tell the time to within 2 seconds. amazing! We saw the Royal Palace and the elephant quarter and after 2 days headed back to Delhi for a couple of nights.  Had a rickshaw adventure on the way to the Red Fort involving drunk rickshaw drivers, palm reading and shop visiting - typical India!
We just got the overnight bus to McCloud Ganj, home of the Dalai Lama and Tibetan community in exile. Its a bit like an Indian/Tibetan Durham with winding streets and little shops.  We hoping to hear the Dalai Lama's teachings tomorrow. Fingers crossed!!

June 30th
We met the dalai lama! He walked passed us before his teachings which we listened to for 2 hours in tibetan as the clouds descended, surrounded by monks and women in traditional dress spinning their prayer wheels.  He then waved at me and smiled as he walked to leave. The atmosphere was amazing and we felt very privileged.  We the walked to a waterfall in the hills this afternoon and paddled with the goats and monks!
