hoi an is a beautiful little town by the sea, little cafes, lots of tailors. decided to get too suits made 30 pounds each for 80 % cashmere! I wasnt even going to get anything. carl got a tux and a lovely pinstrip suit. all the girls in the tailors took a shine to him and giggled at his beard, they had a shock the next day when he'd had it all shaved off!
spent the next day at the beach under a palm tree eating pineapple...bliss! we even rode motorbikes to get there.
we didnt have much time in hoi an but it was a delightful little town and everyone in vietnam has such a good sense of humour!
off to na trang and whale island!
spent the evening at the sailing club on the beach at na trang before sailing off to whale island. I tiny little island with about 15 beach bungalows to sleep in, lots of lizards and palm trees. spendt three days reading, drinking pineapple shakes and orangina, snorkelling...saw huge blue starfish and relaxing. carl had a go at wind surfing with a guy on the tour called jack...it wasnt so successful to put it midly!
it was nice to just relax by the beach for a bit though and the beach huts with thatched roofs and big mozzi nets were rather fun!
back to na trang this afternoon before getting on the train tonight for saigon.
