Why is everything in Polish?

Hanging with my Aussie and Canadian friends in one of many cavernous bars/clubs.
Well, my wild and crazy Aussie friend left me for another woman today, giving chase to a lovely gal on her way to Warsaw, so once again I am without a fun group to hang with.  So I set out today and bought my bus ticket to Budapest for Wednesday and then planned to check out Harry Potter at the theater off the square.  Luckily I asked, because the paper was in error and it was not in English but dubbed.  So I left briefly and checked the board outside and came back and asked about another movie, but that, too, was in Polish.  Dang it...what to do in this rain.

I checked out an exhibition of Monotheistic posters next door and then went back to the hostel to think.  My guide book listed another theater in the Jewish district, a bit of a walk, so as soon as there was a break in the rain, I headed on the 30 minute trek there (I suppose I could've made use of the tram).  When you buy a ticket to the movies here, you pick a seat in the theater.  Interesting.  I let the guy choose one for me.  And I also noticed that you can bring in your own food, at least they didn't stop anyone from doing so, although as is typical, I had smuggled in candy and soda anyway.

It was nice going to the movies, which is something I do a lot back at home.  It's also movie night in the hostel, so I plan to stay in tonight and enjoy one of my last nights here.

Ha. Funny title. I know how it is to miss movies. When I was in Korea for some reason i was dying to go to a movie. They didn't have one single movie in English--all dubbed. So I ended up renting a Korean movie and watching it subtitled at my boss's house. I promptly fell asleep. Good times.

Miss ya!
