One night in Bangkok
After a final day negotiating the mayhem of India (and catching a flick), I left behind the cows and the chaos and made my way to Bangkok. I noticed right away upon landing that it was clean here, organized even, and people stayed in their lane on the highways. It's amazing to walk down the street and not see so much trash, although I did catch sight of someone bathing naked in the Chao Phraya river this afternoon. That sort of thing would never happen in India. They always leave on their over-underpants when bathing!
As anticipated, there is a whole new world of cuisine to be had here, but the stifling heat and humidity has made me completely uninterested in eating. Instead I've ended my detox program and went out for beers my first night here with a friend I met through this website. My body had forgotten what a hangover feels like until this morning. There's something to be said for clean living.
I'm not staying long in this city, though. At least not this time around. I've already secured a train to Chiang Mai tomorrow to begin my loop around SE Asia, returning back here eventually to catch a flight to my last continent on the tour. So off I go to see what adventures await me in this neck of the woods.
