Everything she said it would be...

So I'm in Prague after hearing about this place so much from my sister Jen and so many other travelers on the road. What do I think? Well, I LOVE IT!
Yesterday I spent the day wandering around, over the Charles bridge again, this time at night, and saw a police officer approach a couple who was lounging on the side, drinking wine. Instead of getting mad about the wine, he told them to get their feet off the side for fear they may fall over the side. This is my kind of place!.
We checked out the astronomical clock (although we keep missing the hourly show) and really just tried to beat the heat, which included soaking our feet in a fountain at one point. Ahh... In that regard, we happened upon this indoor mall during the day, which is host to the Bodies exhibit here in Prague which I've seen in Chicago already. The most interesting statue I've seen thus far was inside: a rider on a horse that was upside down. We then had iced coffees and chilled. Rob, the friend I'm touring with, went off to play guitar in a music shop and I wandered around a bit and came upon a shop that brought the biggest smile to my face, a bar/bookstore. Now my sister Jen has been telling me we should open something like this back at home, but always the more reserved of us two, I'm like, you can't have drinks near books! Well, there it was, and it was great. I took a ton of photos for sure.
Then we walked around some more and checked out a place for dinner where I had some goulash. I liked it, and get this, I even liked the onions that came with it. What is happening to me here? After some late night drinks, back to bed to fight the heat.
Today we headed to the Palace for the day and checked that out. There was a basilica with another 299 steps to take up the tower, and I feel bad, but all this stuff is starting to look the same. I have to pinch myself that I get to be here sometimes. Then off to the Golden Lane, an area formerly houses, one of which was home to Kafka, but now shops, and then onto a tower, formerly a prison. It had a rack and other torture devices employed when it was in full swing. Eeery.
One thing about having a trouble buddy is I'm not as stuck in my map and we did a lot of wandering today, finding some cool cafes and places for lunch. This city is beautiful, laid back and super friendly. The architecture is amazing. This place is like no other. However, there are tons of tourists here, but then again, so am I, but I can't help but want to return in the winter when it is not so packed. There is so much to do here, so I'm so glad I have many more days ahead!
